South Staffordshire Colleges 1st Phase Installation Complete

South Staffordshire Colleges have just installed and commissioned the first phase of a bespoke energy management system using an Energy Applications solution. The system has been piloted at their Tamworth campus, with the expectation of being rolled out to their remaining four campuses during 2010-11.

Energy Applications worked closely with both Carbon Control Limited, the colleges’ energy management and conservation solution provider, together with the College Estates Directorate. In addition to providing valuable energy management information to enable opportunities for savings to be identified and savings achieved tracked, reporting functionality has also been developed which will streamline the reporting system used for the compulsory DoE (Department of Education) reporting requirements. Commenting on the project, Andrew Fletcher Managing Director at Carbon Control Limited confirmed that he and the college are extremely pleased with the first phase of the roll out and the step change in energy management capability it brings. Subsequent rollouts to the colleges other campuses are now being planned during 2010-11.

South Staffordshire College was created by merging four established colleges: Lichfield, Cannock, Tamworth and Rodbaston. The four campuses can accommodate up to 20,000 full- and part-time students and comprises of up to 1,400 supportive staff amid numerous facilties.
